Latin Lab

The Lab
The Latin Lab (LaL) is a laboratory of the Department of Humanities and Philosophy of the University of Trento and one of the initiatives of the University Strategic Plan 2025-2027. It is a coordination structure between the University and the territory that aims to strengthen language teaching, school orientation, research and scientific dissemination in the field of Latin language and culture through a programme of targeted and joint actions.
The aim of the LaL is to promote a new view of the Latin world in its various manifestations from the classical, medieval, modern periods and in its relations with other languages and cultures, and to promote knowledge of it through both popular and specialised activities. To this end, it offers Latin language courses at all levels, organises the Latin Language Certificate, supports the conception and realisation of conferences, theatrical and educational initiatives of various kinds and, finally, promotes the internationalisation of the University through targeted collaborations with foreign institutions and universities.
The LaL promotes collaboration between different disciplines, with a view to fostering constant dialogue between the past and the present.
